I founded TrueLine Bookkeeping LLC to help small-business owners keep their financial records accurate, organized, and easier to understand.

My path to bookkeeping isn't exactly traditional, but the skills that brought me here have been part of my entire career: attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and helping people.

I've been a small-business owner, spent approximately 20 years in nursing, worked in healthcare technology and billing support, and used QuickBooks for more than 15 years. Today, I bring those experiences together to provide dependable, approachable bookkeeping for small businesses.

My QuickBooks Story Started With My Own Business

My experience with QuickBooks began around 2010 when my husband, John, and I owned and operated a self-defense school.

Like many small-business owners, we wore a lot of hats. Along with taking care of our students and running the day-to-day operations, there was also the financial side of running a business to manage.

That's where I first gained hands-on experience with QuickBooks and learned just how valuable organized financial records can be as well as how easy it is for bookkeeping to compete for your attention when you're busy actually running the business.

Years later, that experience would help lay the foundation for TrueLine Bookkeeping LLC.

A Career Built Around Accuracy & Problem-Solving

Before starting TrueLine, I spent approximately 20 years working in nursing. Healthcare taught me the importance of accuracy, confidentiality, documentation, attention to detail, and following through when something doesn't look right.

I later transitioned into healthcare technology, where I spent more than five years supporting medical practices and their business operations.

Much of that work involved healthcare billing support, including electronic claim submission, denials, clearinghouses, insurance-related issues, billing workflows, and software troubleshooting.

Solving those problems often required looking beyond the obvious issue, investigating the details, and figuring out what happened and how to correct it.

That's the same mindset I bring to bookkeeping today.

Bringing It All Together

Today, I combine my small-business experience, years of working with QuickBooks, professional training, and QuickBooks certification through TrueLine Bookkeeping LLC.

My current bookkeeping work includes both small-business and rental-property operations, giving me hands-on experience with the everyday realities of maintaining books and not simply textbook examples.

And real-world books aren't always perfect.

Transactions get miscategorized. Accounts don't reconcile. Records fall behind. Duplicate transactions appear. Sometimes something from several months ago simply doesn't make sense.

That's when I'm most likely to start asking why.

I like figuring out what happened, correcting the problem, and getting things organized again. It's one of the reasons bookkeeping is such a natural fit for the way I work.

Good bookkeeping isn't simply about entering transactions. It's about making sure the numbers accurately reflect what's happening in the business.

Beyond the Books

Family is a big part of my life. My husband, John, and I have spent many years working together, from owning our self-defense school to tackling whatever our next adventure happens to be.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, working on creative projects, and tackling projects around the house. I'm usually happiest when I have something to organize, create, improve, or figure out.

And since I work from home, I should probably introduce another member of the TrueLine team: Sir Winston Churchill III, my four-legged coworker. His bookkeeping skills are questionable, but his office attendance is excellent.

After years in healthcare, technology, and small-business environments, I've realized that the things I've enjoyed most throughout my career are helping people, solving problems, creating order, and working with details. These are the same things that ultimately led me to bookkeeping.
